Lee Township is currently accepting resumes and letters of interest for a Department of Public Works Assistant. The DPW Assistant will assist/back up the DPW Foreman as needed.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Township Park Caretaker (open/close the park, daily summertime janitorial and maintenance)
  • Splash Pad Caretaker (open and close the splash pad, daily water testing, splash pad maintenance and repairs)
  • Township Hall Caretaker (janitorial services after each hall rental and general maintenance/mowing/snow removal)
  • Cemetery grounds caretaker (Lawn mowing, Spring and Fall Clean up, Chapel and garage maintenance, Snow removal)
  • Fire Department: (Mowing, trimming, Snow removal, general maintenance)
  • Refuse and Recycle Center Attendant – Request access card from the property owner, direct property owner to correct location of disposal, potentially assist residents to unload trash/recycling from their vehicle, light computer usage (recording of information on a spreadsheet), skid steer usage, must be able to lift 50LBS. The Center is open on Tuesdays from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

Overall duties include but are not limited to:
Lawn care (Park, Township Hall, Fire Department, Cemetery, and Refuse & Recycling Center), Spring and Fall cemetery clean up, Baseball diamond maintenance, Parking lot maintenance, general building maintenance (faucet replacement, drywall repair, interior and exterior painting, waxing floors, power washing, flower bed management, etc..), janitorial services, Snow plowing, Snow removal, Salting walks and drives, additional projects that require DPW involvement/assistance (examples: installing fascia and soffit on pavilions, fence removal, cemetery head stone moves, plotting cemetery lots, tree trimming, parking lot maintenance, indoor painting, etc..).

Pay Rate: $11,000 annually
Estimating an average of 15 hours per week, but could be higher in the summer and lower in the winter.

Must have a valid driver’s license and pass background check.
