Minutes from the June 12, 2006 Regular meeting of the

Lee Township Board of Trustees

 

The Supervisor called the meeting held at the Lee Township Hall to order at 7:00 P.M.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. Present were Trustees Dale Wolfgang  and Mike Glynn, Clerk Ron Rippee, Treasurer Bill Stewart, Supervisor David Yost, and guest Yvonne Corbat

 

Item 1.  Yvonne Corbat briefly described the County proposals that will appear on the August primary ballot.

 

Item 2.  Dale Wolfgang moved supported by Bill Stewart to approve the minutes from the May 8, 2006 regular meeting. Motion carried.

 

Item 3.  The Treasurer’s was read and placed on file.

 

Item 4.  Dale Wolfgang moved supported by Mike Glynn to approve payment of the general township bills as presented with the additions of:

 

                           $3,073.08 to Waste Management for May 06 waste hauling

                           $35.00 to Municipal Retirement Systems for pension clerical fees

                           $25.00 to Delmer Toner for hall cleaning deposit refund

                           $25.00 to Joan Croft for hall cleaning deposit refund

                           $385.50 to Burnham & Flowers for pension payment

                           $585.73 to the Midland County Treasurer for tax overpayment

Item 5.  Bill Stewart moved supported by Dale Wolfgang to approve payment of the fire department bills as presented. Dale yes, Mike yes, Ron Yes, and Dave yes. Motion carried.   

 

Item 6.  Bill Stewart moved supported by Dale Wolfgang to approve the payroll. Dale yes, Mike yes, Ron yes, Bill yes, and Dave yes. Motion carried

 

Item 7.  Bill Stewart moved supported by David Yost to approve the contract with Landmark Lawn & Snow to grind 21 stumps at the park at a cost of $500.00.

Item 8.  Bill Stewart moved supported by Dale Wolfgang for the Township to contact Jim Bluemer to grade the park driveway, remove the stump at the hall and fill in the hole left from the stump removal. Dale yes, Mike yes, Ron yes, Bill yes, and Dave yes. Motion carried.

 

Item  9.  Bill Stewart moved supported by Mike Glynn to allow the fire department to use fire trucks to fill swimming pools for training purposes. The filling of pools will be limited to residents of the fire department’s coverage area. The charge per load of water will be $40.00. Dale no, Mike yes, Ron yes, Bill yes, Dave yes. Motion carried.

 

Public comments were opened at 8:05 P.M. and closed at 8:25 P.M.

 

Item 10. Mike Glynn moved supported by Dale Wolfgang to amend the Lee Township Group Pension Plan to include Deputy Treasurer Barbara Stewart in the pension plan.

Item 11. Bill Stewart moved supported by Mike Glynn to amend the Lee Township Hall Rental Agreement to prohibit the removal of Township property from the hall and grounds. Dale yes, Mike yes, Ron yes, Bill yes, and Dave yes. Motion carried.

 

Item 12. Dale Wolfgang moved supported by Bill Stewart to purchase from Miles Propane 5200 gallons of propane for the fire department and 2750 gallons for the township at a cost of $1.67 per gallon. Dale yes, Mike yes, Ron yes, Bill yes, and Dave yes. Motion carried.

 

Public comments were re-opened at 9:30 P.M. and closed again at 9:30 P.M.
